Sebastian Irarrazaval | La Reserva House

Description :
La Reserva House was designesd by Sebastián Irarrázaval and would be built on the outskirts of Santiago and therefore monitoring of the construction could not be very exhaustive. As a result it was decided by a simple cubic matrix.

Moreover, the reduced budget forced us to opt for a constructive economic system and fast. As' we decided to use one, widely developed in the U.S. and Canada and here in Chile is beginning to be use in the georgian houses. which consists of a structure of galvanized iron profiles, chipboard panels OSB siding and sheathing PVC imitation wood.



It is a low-cost housing, 140 m2, to be sold and repeated in many places as concerned people exist. In this regard it relates to the idea of the container since it has no place. With the purpose of reducing construction time, geometry is simple and the construction system is on prefabricated basis. Its arrangement is a cross shaped where, in order to embrace the nearby landscape, public areas are placed in second level in a 4 meters high cube.




This severe volume is covered with steel plates that create a double facade that gets hot and therefore increases ventilation of the space in between , refreshing the inner side of the wall

With regard to materials, the building recognizes the inherent uncertainty and inevitability of weathering as a continuation of the building process rather than as a force antagonistic to it.

Arthur Casas in Santana de Parnaíba

Arthur Casas graduated from the FAU/Mackenzie in 1983. His practice covers architecture, interior design and furniture. One of his most famous works being the Hotel Emiliano (São Paulo) and the remodelling of the Brazilian Embassy in Buenos Aires. Well awarded he has offices in São Paulo and New York.























This is just another best residential project by Arthur Casas in Iporanga - São Paulo, Brazil. The use of prefabricated concrete panels and a steel skeletal structure made this a super quick build in Brazilian terms at just 10 months. I love the two storey glass sliding door! Fantastic! It's just so open! Clad in local wood with a double height central living area flanked by cozy sleeping and eating spaces, wonderful!















Completed without interruption open plan living, not only in the flow between living areas, but also with the outdoors, was one of the most important points in the brief for this residence of steel and concrete, situated in a gated condominium in Santana de Parnaíba, a city in the greater São Paulo area. The organisation of construction, detailing and finishing of this work into compatible mini projects to be completed simultaneously, allowed the house to bens in just 10 months.
















When one talks of minuscule detailing, compatibility of projects, sequencing and the use of prefabricated solutions, the first image to mind is large skyscrapers or buildings usually commercial in nature. This residence of around 500 built square metres, designed by Arthur Casas and finished in 10 months, is one of the exception that confirms the rule.



















The end of the living area is closed off by that HUGE sliding picture door, painted white. This automated door moves easily to close off either the living area, or protect the outdoor BBQ area from the wind. "She moves so easily that we opted to automate it, in order to slow it's movement and prevent accidents," says Casas. The two storey living room is even more impressive due to the use of floor to ceiling glass along two of its sides. Which as the architect wanted, allows light and the outside in.





















The choice of a steel skeletal structure for the build was one of the factors that drove the project towards a production line factory type build. "The system requires modulation and planned solutions" says Arthur Casas. This requirement, meant that 4 months were invested in pre build planning. Time spent in planning was recuperated in the clockwork executed construction of the house, that didn't need on the spot alterations, so common these days in an architecturally designed house.




















For the outer protective skin of the house, Casa chose prefabricated concrete panels, some raw, others with a sprayed on textured mineral coating. Common in industrial warehouses, this solution appeared as a practical alternative, functional and easily integrated into the design of the house, defined by svelte lines and great transparent openings. The same prefab concrete slabs but without the textured coating, make up the external patios.



















Internally ,the house is define by two symmetrical blocks and for integrated areas. "In the brief, the client made it very clear that what they didn't want was living compartmentalised by walls" says Casas. The division of rooms was made longitudinally, reserving half the downstairs area of the larger space for the kitchen, dining and outdoor Churrasqueria (a proper BBQ), all linked visually and divided by sliding glass doors. The other half was left for a small guest bedroom, atelier and large living area, separated from the dining area by a pivoting door and the fireplace.



























The wooden stairs lead up to the second storey with the master and another guest bedroom. The open circulation areas is protected by a glass railing as is the stairway. Also on this floor, but with a private entry are the laundry/service areas and maids quarters.

















To unify the build, the architect specified very few finishing materials. The Tauari wood floors appear in all rooms, even the kitchen and the concrete walls are plastered internally. The exception being the bathroom with marble flooring and tiled walls.

This Metro Cabin is using exposed curved steel beams to support the 2 x 6 tongue and groove roof deck. The Metro Cabin line is a series of high efficiency, modern-style prefab BUILDINGS designed by Andrew Kelly and Architect Dan Owens.

Each Metro Cabin is assembled on your site from a kit of prefabricated components, and currently is available in two sizes; 16 x 20 (320 square feet) and 12 x 16 (192 square feet) The homes are delivered within 4 weeks of order. They are erected on either a concrete slab or on our proprietary foundation system. A kitchen and Bath are available as optional packages. Also available are “off-the-grid” packages.

Relocatable M-vironment are made of a wide range variety of manipulatable components that can be connected in many different ways to a matrix of modular support frames. The frames can be asembled and disassembled in different ways to accomodate a wide range of changing needs. The M-House shown here is made from M-vironment system. It consist of a series of rectangular panels that are attached with hinged to the cubes in either a horizontal or a vertical orientation. The hinges allow the panel to fold into or out of the cube frames to perform various functions.

Prefab House Studio 804 | Modular 4






















This Prefab House design was bring to you by Studio 804. Studio 804 is the studio that designing or build program that focused on community based architecture creation at University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Design. During this final exercise, the students collaborate to bring a housing design to fruition that provides architectural solutions with an emphasis on affordable homes.

The Modular 4 is one of their prefab house project that was build in 3914 Lloyd St. Kansas City, KS , Its became their most ambitious project to date, Consist of 7 module and have 1500 sqf area that located mere blocks away from the KU medical center, providing tremendous exposure to our work. Its have feature of flexible floor plan anchored by a core of service space that defines the interior, the seven modules are offset in the middle to separate public and private, creating a bold four-foot cantilever on either side of the house.
















Modular 4 continues Studio 804’s commitment towards developing responsible architecture through the means of prefabrication, materiality, and sustainability. The continued involvement in the Kansas City, Kansas residential core over the past four years has helped the process of shifting architectural as well as perceptual values towards the city.

Prototype of Modern House for Indonesian people by Yudha Ratmawan


























A young architect from Indonesia Yudha Ratmawan had designed this cool prefab house for Prototype of Modern House in Large City of Indonesia. He is one of my partner that i have meet last time and helpin me doin some animation in architectural 3d design which is also become his expertise.

Anyway let talk about this prototype of modern house design that was made for his final project at UII, This design is one of the problem solving that he offer for indonesian housing which have meet all criteria in effectivity, simplicty, and efficiency.



































This House design use 3 x 3m module for structure and has 2 house module dimension, one is 9 x 18m module and 12 x 15 m. Image 1 to 4 describe the model that using 9 x 18m module and the image from 5 to 8 describe the 12 x 15 m module.



















The interestin one about this design is you still have a lot of alternatif models that you can pick if you try to using this modern house prototype, you can ask how many rooms you need, how is the facade and model will look like to make your house different from the other.
